Answer. Your cat will never be housed with someone else's cat. At most, while in a condo, the play area, or a catio, your cat may meet and sniff noses with another cat through the wire mesh.
Answer. Cats can be stressed by activity that disrupts their normal routines, such as riding in a carrier in a car and experiencing a change in venue. When they arrive at a new destination, they may show some slight apprehension and stress. Everything is new - sights, smells, people's faces, etc., but they usually settle in to their new surroundings and any nervousness quickly dissipates. Their curiosity gets the best of them, as there are new smells, lots of new things to see and do, and places to explore. We keep a close eye on our boarders, and monitor their acclimation to ensure they are aren't unduly stressed or frightened. Individual attention and affection, play time, treats, toys, and the outdoor catio access all help your kitty adjust. Most cats end up enjoying their boarding experience and have fun watching and engaging in all the activities around them.
Answer. Absolutely! We have a variety of treats available, however, you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. We do whatever we can to keep your cat happy and comfortable during his/her stay at PurrsnicKitty, so treats are a part of that equation.
Answer. Yes, we are happy to administer daily medications, supplements, and insulin shots for diabetic cats for no additional fee. Medications include pills, salves, ointments, and drops.
Answer. No. There are 2 spacious 6 ft. W x 18 ft. L catios, each available for the individual rotation of 5-6 boarders.
Answer. Use of the common areas is determined by the number of boarders at PurrsnicKitty on any given day. Essentially, there are 3 areas that can be utilized at once - the play area and the 2 catios. Cats will be rotated among these throughout the day. If there are few boarders, your kitty may be able to use an area for a few hours at a time. If the cattery is full, your cat's play time will be reduced so that other boarders may also use the common areas and enjoy some time outside his/her condo.
Answer. There is no additional charge for the use of the common areas. If you want your cat's condo to have a window view, then you will need to reserve and pay for a condo with a window and catio. However, if you are not interested in your cat utilizing the catio and/or play area, that is fine - we just need these preferences communicated to us in advance.
Answer: Sure, we welcome visitors! If you have a family member or someone else who your cat knows and you would like for him/her to come visit, that is fine. The only stipulation is we will need to have the person's name and contact information before you leave, and any visitor will need to make an appointment to visit.
Answer. Should this occur, you may request your pet be taken to you regular veterinarian if located within 20 miles of PurrsnicKitty, provided an appointment is available. Otherwise, your kitty will be seen by a local veterinarian or emergency clinic, at your expense. Please see our Policies page for additional information.
Answer. We use stainless steel litter pans, and food and water dishes, as ceramic can break easily, and plastic is known to harbor bacteria. In the future, we may switch to disposable cardboard litter trays, but we don't really like the idea of adding unnecessary waste and trash to the world. Litter boxes are scooped and freshened up as needed throughout the day. Floors are also swept, vacuumed, and mopped as needed every day. When a condo is vacated, all contents are removed, cleaned and sanitized, including any and all bedding, and the condo is wiped down.
